TUI Bulgaria was in charge of the informal parallel cultural program for the participants of the International Symposium of EURALARM.
Together with the standard Folklore evening, excursion to Plovdiv and Batchkovo Monastery and Sofia Sightseeing tour, the organizers needed something special to be offered, something for the participants’ partners.
If you are in Bulgaria during the first week of June, it is a must to take part in the rose-picking ritual, part of the unique annual Bulgarian Rose Festival held in the Valley of the Thracian Kings. This is the time of the year, when the rose fields are blossoming and their fragrance is spread heavenly all over the valley!
So, this was the perfect place for the gentle half of the event.
The participants have been involved in this old and beautiful Bulgarian tradition, that made famous our little country all around the world. They could breath-in the unique aroma of Rosa Damascena, while picking roses from the fields together with the locals. They could share their enthusiasm and sang along the typical folklore songs while observing the most important part of the process – the rose-oil distillation.
A scent of roses that has left memories to remember!
